Did you know that your ability to eliminate stress in your life also equates to your own happiness? If your ability to stay happy depends on the lack of stressors in your life, then there is no better motivation than that to strengthen your stress management efforts. Below are some of the information you need to know to get started on that.

Stress and Your Happiness Level

It has been known that stress could have a direct impact on your health condition, such that it could put you at risk of developing certain illnesses such as high blood pressure, stroke, or serious heart problems. But the most significant impact of stress is something that is felt in your everyday life – your ability to stay happy and energized. Since stress is a fact of life, it does not mean that you have to completely accept it as something that you cannot change or have no control of.

This is due to a domino effect that stress creates in one’s life. If you are able to overcome stress, you can live healthy. If you live healthy, then you can stay happy. This is not as easy as it appears though. You need to follow a three-step plan: identifying your stressors, finding a stress management technique that works for you, and then adapting that into your life.

Identifying Your Stressors
The cause of stress in one person is different from the other. Hence, you need to take the time to look into what it might be that is causing you tremendous amount of stress in a daily basis. Could it be that you are loading yourself more work than you can handle? Are you stressed by the intense level of competition for academic excellence at school? Is your health condition causing you too much worry?

Identifying your priorities in life could also reveal what your stressors are. But you can never skip this step when trying to realize proper stress management in your life. You cannot find a solution if you do not know the source of the problem.
Find a Stress Management Technique That Works For You

Once you find out what the problem is, you can now look into different stress management techniques that can work for addressing that problem. Since there are different stressors for each individual, there are also unique ways of addressing the issue.

Some people find it would be good to set aside time for themselves, such as pampering, or doing things that they enjoy. For a few others, they like to stay indoors and enjoy a moment of solitude, such that they can be away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world to find inner peace. Whichever approach works for you, it is all up for you to discover. Experiment with using various stress management techniques first and then see which ones offer the best results.

Tips to Lead a Stress-Free Life

If you cannot think of any activity or ideas to overcome stress, here are some activities you can incorporate into your stress management regiment to stay happy and healthy:

Create a relaxing environment that would facilitate in a relaxing body and mind. You can sit on a lounger in your patio while enjoying fresh air, listen to some soothing music, or light up scented candles in your room.

You can travel and have a vacation for a few days. If you’re too busy, do this over the weekend. Use the opportunity to rejuvenate yourself and not think about anything that might cause you stress, such as work or financial problems at home.

Explore nature and the wild outdoors. A lot of people find being close to nature to be very relaxing. If you are one of those, here’s your time to do so.

Some people have this false misconception that stress is a condition beyond their grasp or control. As a result, they fail to employ proper stress management techniques when in fact there are a lot of ways for you to control it instead of the other way around.
Struggling with stress? Here are some effective ways you can use to finally win over your battle with it.

Identifying Symptoms of Stress

When it comes to stress management, self-help is just as effective. But you cannot take steps to combatting signs of stress if you cannot recognize the symptoms for this condition. Hence, you must start by identifying the symptoms of stress. Some of the most common ones include the following:

• Muscle pain or tension • Headaches • Sweating and dizziness • Bowel problems • Nausea • Tensed feeling all over your body • Feeling of irritability • Memory failure • Insomnia

In addition to the above symptoms, one could also develop severe problems resulting from stress such as asthma, high blood pressure, and other problems of the heart.

Stress Management Methods

Your ability to manage stress could make the difference in your life. It would also enable you to overcome the physical, emotional, and mental impact of too much stress and worry in life. It is not enough that you come to identify the symptoms of stress. You need to act on it and make an effort to correct them!

Below are practical stress management methods you can employ.

Problem Identification and Finding Solution

In any problem, you need to start by identifying the source of the problem. Without this knowledge, there is no way for you to identify the best solution. According to experts, identifying the problem means half of the battle is won. It enables you to regain control over the situation and better understand your condition.

Avoiding Source of Stress

Once you have identified the main source of your stress, your best approach is to avoid them or steer clear off them. For example, if a certain type of environment or being around a particular group of people is causing you stress or making you feel unhealthy, then it would be best for you to take them out of the equation in your life. Instead, re-focus your attention toward something more useful and substantial while drawing out positive vibes out of it.

Control Your Emotions

Learn how to take charge over your feelings. Identification of the source of stress will enable you to achieve this. You need to inspire yourself to think only positive thoughts and constantly reassure yourself that it is you who is in control of your emotions and avoid it from overpowering you instead. You can divert your problems into other more significant activities, such as engaging in sports, hobbies, or going on a vacation. There is no reason to dwell on things that is causing you to harbor ill or negative feelings.

Live Healthy!

The most obvious yet challenging step towards stress management is to adapt a healthy lifestyle. How do you do this? You need to start with your body. Since this is the first one affected by stress, you need to begin with taking care of your body. Make sure that you are well rested such that you can enable your mind and body to rejuvenate itself. Avoid drinking or smoking since these are unhealthy solutions to stress; in fact, it will only make things worse!

Stress Management Strategies At Home

There is a common misconception that stress can only be found in the workplace and that it is automatically gone while you are at home. This is not always true since you still need to observe proper stress management strategies to ensure that you feel relaxed, mentally and physically, in your own home.

There are certainly lots of aspects involved when acquiring stress at home, as well as several things you can do about it.

Identify the Source of Stress

You cannot expect proper stress management if you cannot pinpoint the reason behind why you are feeling stressed out. For some people, their home serve as a comfortable abode wherein they can relax and leave behind whatever is nagging them, whether it be concerns at school or in the workplace. However, this is not always the case since a lot of factors could contribute to the buildup of stress that one experiences.

One of the most common sources of stress at home concerns the financial aspect in the family. Managing your finances at home can be extremely stressful, while also making sure that you can fulfill the demands of your family. The stress that goes with caring for your kids or doing the household chores can also add up to that stress you are experiencing.

Common Signs of Stress

The initial step to stress management at home is to identify when you are stressed. When you are in that situation, it is often difficult to identify that and take the necessary measure to reverse its effects. Below are the signs you should take note of:

• Inexplainable fatigue
• Insomnia
• Weight loss or gain
• High blood pressure
• Anxiety
• Constant headaches
• Depression

Relaxation

As soon as you notice any of the above signs manifest, then you need to take a break for a while. Do some deep breathing to relax your tensed muscles. You can lie down in bed such that your body will be able to rest and feel rejuvenated. If it makes you comfortable, you can also listen to a soothing music. Or take a pampering bath just to release that tension that is building up inside you.

Go on a Vacation

The most common form of relaxation for anyone dealing with tremendous amount of stress is to have a vacation. This is a great way to take your mind off the things that are causing you to feel stressed. If possible, go to a place that is peaceful and enable you to reflect. It does not have to be expensive, especially if financial problems are causing stress at home. Try doing something that will take you out from that stressful situation and enjoy each moment.

Develop a Hobby

Taking up a hobby is a productive way to deal with stress. To gain effective results, go for positive kind of hobbies such as arts and crafts, gardening, and even sports. Hobbies are not only good for stress management but they are also a great way to keep you active. Before you know it, you can even make a business idea out of your hobby to start earning from it at home.

Here’s a Stress Management Program that Really Works” is a no nonsense, easy to understand stress reduction system.
Do you want stress free life? Anxiety and stress are major problem which take away the pleasure from our lives. Though, you cannot totally avoid stress, still you can make sure that it does not affect you too much.

Read the following tips to learn how to handle stress better:

1. Write Down Your Worries:

It is not easy to divert the mind when it is busy with worrying thoughts. An effective technique is to write down these worries on paper. This will help in clearing the mind. Now it can focus on other productive things.

What happens when you pen down your stressful thoughts is that they will lose their power. The thoughts aren’t going to disappear away so quickly. But their power will have diminished greatly just by the simple exercising of writing them down. How cool is that!

Note down the things which are currently on your mind. Beside them, write down possible solutions which you can try out. This will give you an actionable plan to implement. Now you can rest in peace.

2. Start Exercising:

Get into the habit of exercising regularly. You should exercise at least 3-5 times in a week. Make sure each session lasts for about 30 minutes or more.

You don’t need to join a gym. You can carry on simple exercises like jogging, swimming, jumping rope, biking etc. When you exercise, the body releases a hormone called endorphin. This will help in making you feel calm and also enhances your mood.

3. Let Go of Negative Things:

Many people are in the habit of clinging on to things even though those things or situations are causing them a lot of stress. They have to get over this habit and need to step back and analyze a situation properly. And if required, they should be willing to let go of the things which are causing stress for them.

If certain stressful things are draining us of our energies, then it becomes necessary to take remedial action. It can become necessary to let go of certain things to regain our energy.

4. Always Be Positive:

There are many benefits of being positive in life. We will find it easy to keep fighting hard against the problems that come up. We won’t give up easily. Positing attitude has a relaxing effect on us whereas negative thinking saps away our energies.

People are easily attracted to you when you have a positive attitude. You will feel happy and deal with problems better than the negative thinkers. This is a great blessing indeed.

Here are seven stress management tips I have compiled that puts you in control when you’re dealing with work stress. Individuals experiencing stress in their careers may want to consider several approaches to stress management:

Social Support: Seek out social support. Individuals who have the support of friends and loved ones experience many fewer symptoms of stress than do those without social support. If you feel you are lacking social support, seek it out. Social groups, churches, and local support organizations are possibilities.

Priorities:Attempt to reestablish priorities. Allow more time for activities. Ask which activities can be curtailed. Learn to say no.

Coping. Develop effective coping strategies. In general, those who cope with a stressful situation by treating it as an opportunity to show skills and abilities tend to do best. Those who simply try to run away from stressful situations usually find they can’t. Those who deal with stress by treating its symptoms, especially by use of alcohol or drugs often find themselves in a downward spiral.

Fitness: Get fit and stay fit. Exercise reduces tension and strengthens the cardiovascular system. Physically fit individuals are better able to master stressful situations.

Relaxation: Learn to relax. A variety of relaxation techniques have been developed. Some of them seem a bit mystical, but most do seem to be useful. The relaxation response is an anti-stress response in which muscle tension decreases, heart rate and blood pressure decrease, and breathing slows.
